Ols.

Many channels, one desk. Software and teams, mixed in the same room, levels always moving. The occasional song leaks in from the side channel.

Three hands, one desk.

I write software, run engineering teams, and play music. All three have taught me the same thing from different angles: small, honest, and finished beats big, clever, and someday.

B

Building

Fifteen-plus years shipping software. Started backend, drifted across platforms, ended up comfortable across the full stack, embedded Pi services, Roblox Luau, and TypeScript for Discord. Prefer stdlib over framework, one working thing over three planned ones.

L

Leading

Five years as engineering and operations chef. Grow teams by trust and small groups, set direction, remove friction, and stay close enough to the code that nothing surprises me twice. Interested in the boring competence that keeps a shop alive at year seven.

P

Playing

The side channel: voice, mostly. Training it like an engineer trains anything, in small honest reps. It keeps the ears sharp and it built Sungly. Writing songs and writing systems solve for the same thing in two notations: make a small pattern that carries a long way.

The board.

9 channels racked

A working catalogue rather than a highlight reel. Every channel is a real operation with a running dev log: open one and it lights up. If any of them sound like a fit, the signals are at the bottom.

The desk is the instrument.

This many operations do not fit one desk by working harder. They fit because the desk itself keeps getting rebuilt: agent-driven workflows tuned until the boring parts disappear.

Most of what runs on the board is built in a tight loop with Claude: specs written as documents an agent can act on, review gates that run before anything lands, ship steps that happen the same way every time. The craft is in designing the loop, not in typing faster.

One example from Shade of the Blade: a weapon starts as a written prompt, becomes a generated 3D model, passes an automated budget check and a human eyeball gate, and lands as a published asset wired into the game's config. Minutes, not afternoons. Even the two figurines on this page came through that pipeline.

One workflow, abbreviated

  1. prompt
  2. generate
  3. measure
  4. review
  5. publish
  6. wire config

The interesting parts are not on this page. Ask me about the method.

When the channels go quiet there is usually a voice take running somewhere in the room. Singing is the side interest that refuses to stay small: it keeps the ears honest, and it is the reason Sungly exists.

Open to conversations about engineering leadership, small-team collaboration, indie game co-development, agent-driven ways of working, and Nordic-flavoured software. Not open to recruiters with a "quick call" agenda.

Open invitationSitting on an idea that will not leave you alone? The best teams I know started as two people annoyed by the same thing. Bring the itch, I bring the desk, we build it together.
